Closest to the Fish

MEMORANDUM

Our city employees work hard every day to provide the services that keep our community running, and I am grateful to the many of you who treat them with kindness and respect. Unfortunately, there have been recent incidents where staff have faced verbal abuse or felt threatened during interactions with the public. This behavior is unacceptable and makes it more difficult for employees to serve you effectively.

If you have concerns, I encourage you to share them directly with the City Council - either in writing or during the public comment period at council meetings. These meetings are announced in advance and provide the best opportunity for your voice to be heard.

Let us continue working together with respect and understanding to keep our community strong. Thank you for your cooperation and for your ongoing commitment to making Pelican a better place for everyone.

Sincerely,

Patricia Phillips

Mayor of Pelican
