Change in City of Pelican Form of Government
The City of Pelican is providing this notice to inform the community, partner agencies, and organizations we work with that the city’s form of government has officially changed. Pelican voters voted to change the form of government during the October local election.
The city’s Local Government Specialist recommended to inform everyone the city is in contact with regarding the change.
The change is from a Strong Mayor or Mayor-Council to Council-Manager or Manager form of government. The Mayor’s role and responsibilities have changed, and the City Administrator’s role has changed. City Project Management and City Personnel Management used to be under the Mayor’s jurisdiction and is now under the City Manager’s.
Therefore, project direct contact is no longer directed through the Mayor.
Project financials to include reporting and reimbursements, the direct contact is Raven Hanson, City Treasurer.
Respectfully,
Susana Stinnett
Pelican Acting City Manager

Winter home tips:
Turn on your circ pump! As weather cools, keeping your home warm and comfortable is essential. A circ pump keeps hot water moving through your pipes, reducing waiting times at your faucets and helping your water heater work more efficiently.
Dont forget your heat tape! To prevent frozen pipes, remember to turn on your heat tape as needed. Make sure it’s properly installed and working correctly.
Snow removal reminders:
If you’re interested in shoving for the city, please sign up or notify the front office.
As we enter snow-clearing season, please help keep our boardwalk, floats, and fingers accessible. Keep construction materials or bulky items out of pathways used by vehicles and snow removal equipment. Shovel your porch and walkways within 24 hours after snowfall. Do not shovel snow into public rights-of-way. Be a snow angel! Check in on your neighbors and see fi they need help clearing snow or ice.
